About Department of Finance
The Accounting & Finance Department was pioneered by Professor B.O. Ogundele. He started the Department in 1981. The curriculum of the degrees offered here is as approved by the University Senate in line with NUC Benchmark minimum academic standards (BMAS).
The first set of students to be enrolled in the Department was in the 1981/1982 academic session and they graduated in the 1984/1985 Session.
The two Department were separated in 2013 to operate as stand alone programmes.
The Department of Finance also offers a Masters Degree in Finance and, PhD in Finance degree; the number graduated has been substantial.
The students population in Finance programmed averaged about 600 per session in the last three academic years, the academic staff strength is currently twelve (12) and Administrative staff four (4).
With more senior and experienced staff members on ground the Department is comfortable running the post graduate programme.
