UPS pupil wins 2024 creative writing contest

A Basic 4 pupil of the University of Ilorin Primary School(UPS), Raabia Akeem, has won the National Creative Writing Competition (NCWC–2024) , organised by the Rising Young Authors of Nigeria.

In the contest, which held penultimate Monday (July 8, 2024), Raabia came first in the Primary 3 and 4 categories.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of Certificate of Honour to Raabia in recognition of her outstanding performance.

In his remarks, the Headmaster of Unilorin Primary School, Mallam Salihu, appreciated the University of Ilorin Management for giving the School the enabling environment to operate and excel.

In a statement made available to UNILORIN Bulletin, the Headmaster said, “On behalf of staff and pupils of the School, I seize this opportunity to appreciate the University of Ilorin Management team for giving the school an enabling environment to operate. With the support of the University Management, we will go to places”.

He added that “the success of Akeem Rabiaa and others in the past had shown that the School is a force to reckon with at both local, national and international levels. The entire staff and pupils of the School hereby promise to do more in order to put the name of the University in the forefront in the comity of great institutions of learning worldwide”.
