The Mass Communication Alumni Association UNILORIN (MCAAUIL) has congratulated the Dean of Communication and Information Sciences, Prof. Lukman Adesina Azeez, on his recent election as the Vice President (North Central) of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN).
In a letter signed by its President, Dr Abdulgaffar Arikewuyo and Secretary, Dr Aderemi Adeagbo, and addressed to Prof. Azeez, the Association noted that the Dean has made history in different academic strata and his victory at the 11th Annual Conference of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals in Nigeria (ACSPN), was a manifestation of his acceptability by members of the Association and beyond.
“Being an amiable and erudite scholar, the members’ decision to give you their mandate testifies to your academic excellence, capacity development, humanitarian gesture, and service to humanity”, the letter stated.
The Association also expressed its strong belief in the ability of the first Professor of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin, submitting that “your ure your contributions positively to the development of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals in Nigeria”. milestones as former Head of the Department of Mass Communication, Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences at the University of Ilorin as well as your fleet of networks across the academia and beyond would go a long way to guide and structure your contributions positively to the development of the Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals in Nigeria”.
The alumni body of the Department of Mass Communication further added that “the paths you laid for us have always been impactful and fruitful and we are guarding those paths passionately while at the same time sticking to the professional ethos you rigorously taught us. We are sincerely proud of you and promise you our total support”.
Prof. Azeez was elected as the Vice President (North Central) of the Association of Communication Scholars & Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) in September.
