Owoyele elected IBRO-ARC Chair

The Dean, Postgraduate School, University of Ilorin, Prof. B.V. Owoyele, has been elected new Chairman of the African Regional Committee (ARC) of the International Brain Research Organisation (IBRO).

Prof. Owoyele was elected to the position on December 4, 2024 while his election was formally approved penultimate Wednesday (December 18, 2024) by the Board of Directors of IBRO.

IBRO-ARC is composed of elected voluntary leadership that focuses on supporting and promoting neuroscience in the African region based on its specific needs and conditions.

Speaking on his election, Prof. Owoyele said that he was very grateful for the opportunity granted him to lead the IBRO-ARC as he has also served the Committee since January 2021, particularly in the area of overseeing the training workshops known as IBRO Funded Schools.

The Dean also thanked the authorities of the University of Ilorin for the opportunity granted him to serve on the International Committee, saying that he is enjoying the privilege based on the enabling environment provided for staff of the University by its visionary leaders.
