
Alfanla commends Senator Mustapha’s philanthropic gestures to UNILORIN

The Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Alfanla, has commended the Senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly, Senator Saliu Mustapha, on his consistent philanthropic gestures towards the University.
Mr Alfanla gave the commendation in his office last Thursday (April 22, 2025) when the Senator redeemed his pledge of ₦1,000,000 to the Nigerian Association of Social Work Students (NASoWS), University of Ilorin Chapter, following its successful hosting of the 11th National Convention and Annual General Meeting between April 9th and 11th 2025.
The Senator, represented by Mr Alabi Abdulkareem, expressed his love for the University and assured it of his continued support.
The Registrar, who thanked Senator Mustapha on behalf of the University Management, expressed the institution’s deep appreciation for the Senator’s kindness.
The transfer of the funds to the Association’s account was witnessed by several notable individuals, including the Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Alex Akanmu; the Ag Head of the Department of Social Work, Dr. Sunday Abonyi; a Lecturer in the Department of Social Work, Mrs Titilayo Arinde-Simeon; the President of the Student Union, Comrade Victor Agezeh; NASoWS Unilorin Chapter President, Comr. Gbemi Patrick Abraham; the 11th NASoWS National Convention and AGM Organiser, Adewale Daniel Fashola; the Financial Secretary of the LOC, Mariam Abodunrin; and Banire O. Saleem (LOC Sponsorship Lead II)
The University had previously appreciated Senator Mustapha’s fulfillment of a ₦3,000,000 pledge to the Faculty of Physical Sciences in June 2024, as acknowledged in a letter dated 27 December, 2024.
