CBT Centre plans big for special-needs students

The Director, Directorate of Computer-Based Test, University of Ilorin, Prof. Kamilu Rauf, has said that the Centre is planning to have a special building for the students and people with special needs.

 Prof. Rauf stated this last Wednesday (March 13, 2024) while featuring on a special interview programme on UNILORIN 89.3 FM, the official radio station of the University of Ilorin.

The Director said that this is part of the many plans that the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN.  has towards ensuring the  progress and development of the University as a whole.

 He added that about ten internal and external examinations that were organised and  conducted at the Centre were successful.

Prof. Rauf stated that the examinations included Post UTME, Police recruitment examination, National Teachers’ Institute Examination, JAMB Mock, and  Remedial Examination, to mention a few.

The renowned Professor of Mathematics said that the CBT Centre has six  halls with 250 students  carrying capacities each at a time, saying that the halls can simultaneously take no fewer than 1500 students conveniently.

He said that the UNILORIN CBT Centre is a model to all institutions not only in Nigeria but in the whole of Africa.

The don opined that the mandate of the Centre revolves round the Vision 1:10 :500 of the University administration.

 Prof. Rauf explained that the Centre would always conduct its examinations with transparency, objectivity, professionalism and in a way that would be devoid of malpractices.

 He expressed satisfaction that both the lecturers and students involved in various examinations conducted at the Centre have been cooperating with the management and staff of the Centre.

 Prof. Rauf stressed further that all the results of the examinations conducted at the Centre are always released within twelve hours after the examinations. He said all the candidates that sat for the last post-UTME screening have seen their results.

The Director appreciated the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, for always supporting and assisting the Centre.

He also appreciated the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic),Prof. Olubunmi Abayomi Omotesho, and other Principal Officers of the University and relevant stakeholders for their consistent and generous support.
