The Director of the Centre for International Education (CIE), University of Ilorin, Prof. Ibrahim Onireti, and the Ag Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Alex Akanmu, have expressed their readiness to collaborate with the United States Government Exchange Alumni Association of Nigeria (USGEAAN).
The duo stated this last Thursday (January 16, 2025) during separate courtesy calls on them by Executive Committee members of the Kwara State Chapter of USGEAAN.
The CIE Director assured his visitors that a dedicated page will be created on the University website that will contain information about US programme alumni and Fulbright Scholars in the University of Ilorin.
On his part, the Dean of Student Affairs hinted that many student bodies are on campus and he will be happy to have USGEAAN, Kwara Chapter help them with information on available scholarships in the United States and elsewhere. He said that US alumni in Kwara State are great mentors that should be looked up to.
In his own remarks, the Kwara USGEAAN leader, Dr David Adetitun, hinted that USGEAAN activities extend beyond scholarships to cover other areas of community service, which include skills acquisition, environmental sanitation, good governance, career development, among others.
