Egbewole hails Omotowa’s appointment as Non-Executive Director NNPCL

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated an alumnus of the University, Mr Babs Omotowa, on his appointment as a Non-Executive Director at the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

In a statement issued by the University Director of Corporate Affairs on Wednesday (April 2, 2025), Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor described the appointment as well-deserved, considering Mr Omotowa’s impressive credentials and experience in the global oil business.

The Vice Chancellor, who described the new NNPC Non-Executive Director as a thoroughbred professional and outstanding alumnus of the nation’s most sought-after University, said that Mr Omotowa has all it would take to discharge the responsibilities expected of him to the fullest.

The Professor of Jurisprudence and International Law urged Mr Omotowa to seize the privilege of the appointment to work with others towards ensuring the revamp of the nation’s economy, which is largely oil-dependent.

Prof. Egbewole thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the confidence reposed in Mr Omotowa, which culminated in the appointment as he  assured all that the new Non-Executive Director would give a very good account of himself.

The Vice Chancellor wished Mr Omotowa a very peaceful and successful tenure.
