Egbewole meets 20 Newly Promoted Professors

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the newly promoted professors in the university.

Speaking on the tradition of meeting and congratulating newly promoted professors in the university which he noted has been on for decades, the Vice Chancellor charged the accomplished academics to deliver their inaugural lectures within the next twelve months.

Prof. Egbewole made the call on Monday (February 17, 2025) during a congratulatory meeting with the newly promoted professors at the Council Chamber.

Emphasising the significance of the inaugural lecture, the Vice-Chancellor urged the professors to see the lecture as an opportunity to showcase their groundbreaking research and contributions to their respective fields. He urged the professors to focus on their academic journeys and outline future contributions to the academic community.

Expressing confidence in the continued positive contributions of the promoted professors, Prof. Egbewole commended their dedication to the university’s mission. He encouraged them to maintain the same passion and commitment that led to their well-deserved promotions.

In response, the University Librarian, Prof. Kamaldeen Omopupa, representing the newly promoted professors, conveyed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, assuring the management of their continued dedication to the service of the university.
