Former Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Professor Abdulrazaq Olubusuyi Kilani, has been elected the new President of the University of Ilorin Alumni Association. The election took place during the Association’s Congress held at the M&M Event Centre in Ilorin on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
Prof. Kilani secured 125 votes, defeating Dr. Babs Omotowa, who garnered 34 votes. The election results were announced by the Chairman of the UNILORIN Alumni Association Electoral Committee, Dr. Uthman Abdulrahman Ajidagba.

The new officers took the oath of office, which was administered by Professor Azubike Onuora-Oguno.
In his post-election speech, Prof. Kilani expressed his gratitude to the delegates who traveled from across Nigeria and abroad to participate in the election. He urged all members of the Association to work closely with the new leadership, assuring them that his administration would be committed to the progress of both the Association and the University of Ilorin.
Prof. Kilani also pledged to ensure that every member of the Alumni Association is included in the efforts to advance the goals of the body and the university.
