HRH, Alhaji. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman Emir of Katsina

The Emir of Katsina and Chairman, Katsina State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr) AbdulMumini Kabir Usman, CFR, was appointed the Chancellor of the University of Ilorin in May 2015.

Alhaji Usman, who is the 50^th Emir of Katsina, was previously the Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

The First Class royal father, who was born in 1951, is the fifth Chancellor of the University of Ilorin since its inception about 50 years ago. His four predecessors were: the Emir of Bedde, HRH Umar Sulaiman (1978 – 1981); the Aku Uka of Wukari, HRH K.S.A. Masalbi II (1981 – 2000); the Amanyanabo of Nembe, Justice Ambrose Allagoa (2000 – 2006); and the Dein of Agbor Kingdom, HRH Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi I (2006 – 2015).
