Prof. Ambali earned his DVM, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in Veterinary Toxicology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is a distinguished Professor of Environmental Toxicology and serves as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Management Services at the University of Ilorin.
Prof. Ambali’s extensive career at the University of Ilorin includes pivotal roles such as Head of the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology, Sub-Dean, and Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. His leadership extends to chairing several crucial committees, including the Staff Disciplinary and Appeals Committee, the Capital Projects Implementation Monitoring Committee, the Security Committee, and the Merit Award Committee. He also heads the Unilorin Secondary School Management Board.
He has played a key role in university governance and development through his contributions to various boards and committees, such as the Unilorin Zoo Management Board, the Library and Publications Committee, and the Technical Sub-committee of the Appointments and Promotions Committees. Notably, he was instrumental in drafting the 2023 revised guidelines for the promotion of academic staff.
Prof. Ambali’s scholarly work is widely recognized, with numerous publications in national and international journals. He is an esteemed member and fellow of various academic, professional, and cultural organizations. His commitment to academic and professional excellence is evident from his participation in numerous local and international conferences.
Outside his professional endeavors, Prof. Ambali enjoys reading, participating in games, and watching movies. He is married and blessed with children.
