Red Cross commends UNILORIN’s commitment to students’ welfare

The Nigerian Red Cross Society, University of Ilorin Detachment, has commended the leadership of the University on its commitment to students’ welfare and humanitarian efforts.

At a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor last Tuesday (March 25, 2025), the Society’s Commandant, Patricia Adetuase, praised the University Management for its dedication to service, sacrifice, and vision.

The Commandant pointed out that the Detachment of the Nigerian Red Cross Society in the University has been actively involved in various University activities, including convocation and matriculation ceremonies, examination and test invigilation, sporting events, first aid training, healthcare outreaches, and humanitarian initiatives.

She noted that the society’s commitment to saving lives, alleviating suffering and responding to emergencies aligns with the values of the University.

In recognition of his unwavering support for humanitarian efforts, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, was decorated as the Grand Patron of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, University of Ilorin Detachment, by Prof. Shuaib Olanrewaju Oniyangi, the Staff Adviser of the Society. The Vice Chancellor also received a Platinum membership of the Society.
