UNILORIN Alumni Spotlight is on Oluseyi Oduntan – Class of 2001!

Oluseyi Oduntan is a highly skilled and chartered health and safety professional with over 15 years of continuous experience in occupational health and safety. Since 2019, he has been serving as the Project Safety Lead at Imperial College London, where he plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and compliance of complex projects across the institution.

With an extensive background in health and safety management systems, Oluseyi has successfully developed and implemented comprehensive solutions in construction, estates compliance, fire safety arrangements, environmental management, and security systems. A proficient user of industry-standard frameworks like ISO45001, ISO9001, and ISO14001, he excels in designing and maintaining robust management systems to ensure organisational compliance and operational excellence.

As a hands-on CDM specialist, Oluseyi, an alumnus of the University of Ilorin, brings expertise in pre-construction phase management, hazard identification, safety inspections, hazard analysis, and establishing proportionate control measures tailored to diverse operational needs. His NEBOSH and IOSH certifications highlight his deep focus on occupational health and safety, enabling him to consistently achieve and sustain excellent performance metrics.

At Imperial College London, Oluseyi’s exceptional contributions have been recognised multiple times, including winning the prestigious ‘Employee of the Quarter’ award. His reputation as a trusted advisor and central point of contact for all health and safety matters reflects his dedication to fostering safe, compliant, and efficient work environments.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Oluseyi is happily married to Anthonia Oduntan, and together they have two children. The family resides in London, where Oluseyi balances his thriving career with a fulfilling personal life. His unwavering commitment to excellence and well-being ensures he remains a leader in health and safety practices, safeguarding both organisational goals and the workforce he serves.
