UNILORITE shines at 2023 FIDA Week

A student of the Department of Science Education, University of Ilorin, Mr Owolabi Victor Oluwatobi, has done the University proud as he emerged as the runner up at the 2023 edition of the annual FIDA Week. His outstanding performance earned him a  cash prize of ₦15,000.

Receiving Mr Oluwatobi in his office penultimate Friday  (December 8, 2023), the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, commended him for his brilliance and for making the University proud at the competition.

While commending the participation of Mr Oluwatobi at the contest, the Vice Chancellor stated that the University would continue to support and promote academic excellence.

Prof. Egbewole pointed out that the triumph of the UNILORITE underscored his dedication, talent, and the unwavering support of the University of Ilorin community, adding that his success resonates as a source of immense pride for the entire institution.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Suleiman Ambali, joined the Vice Chancellor to receive Mr Oluwatobi who was accompanied by the Desk Officer of the Consortium of Universities in Kwara State (KU8), Dr. Bilqis Owokunle-Lawal.

The 2023 FIDA Week, which was held between  3 and 9 December 2023, was organised by the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), Kwara State Branch, focusing on the theme “The Uprise in Drug Abuse: Role of Parents.”

The competition attracted the participation of eight  universities across Kwara State, including Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin; Ojaja University, Ilorin;  Summit University, Offa and Thomas Adewumi University. Oko.
